Avi Katz

About

Israeli cartoonist who has produced illustrations for numerous novels. He won the National Jewish Book Award in 2009 for his JPS Illustrated Bible.

Before Fame

Though he was born in the US, he moved to Israel in 1970 to attend the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design; he graduated in 1973.

Trivia

His JPS Illustrated Bible won the National Jewish Book Award in 2009.

Family Life

He had three sons with wife Rachel Katz.

Associated With

Prior to attending art school in Jerusalem, he spent three years studying at UC Berkeley, just like cartoonist Darrin Bell.
