Before Fame

His father owned a violin factory, and Suzuki spent his youth teaching himself to play the violin by listening to musical recordings and imitating what he heard.

Trivia

He advocated that children be taught the violin from an early age, and he opened a music school in Matsumoto that accepted all applicants.

Family Life

He met and married Waltraud Prange in 1905.
