She sang on her father's Christmas album when she was six years old and began performing five years later.

Family Life

She married Marvin Yancy in 1976, Andre Fischer in 1989, and then Kenneth H. Dupree in 2001. She and Yancy had a son named Robert together.

Associated With

One of Cole's contemporaries, Marianne Faithfull, was once an esteemed musician but her addiction to heroin eventually led to her downfall.
