He was an All-American at Wake Forest University in 1970, the same year he won the U.S. Amateur.

He was on a record eight Ryder Cup teams, with an overall record of 20-11-3.

Family Life

His brother, Bobby Wadkins, also played on the PGA Tour, from 1975 until 1998.

He was a golf analyst for CBS from 2002 to 2007; he was replaced by Nick Faldo.
