Ken Tamplin

Singer and songwriter in the Christian Rock genre. In 1987, he founded a glam metal Christian band called Shout.

Before Fame

He spent his early teen years selling and using cocaine and other drugs. At age fourteen, he ended his drug use and became a born-again Christian.

Trivia

For his 1993 album Tamplin, he received one of several Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards.

Family Life

He grew up in Marietta, Georgia. His cousin, Sammy Hagar, was lead vocalist of the rock band Van Halen.

Associated With

He produced a 2001 charity album that featured gospel vocals by singer Andrae Crouch.
