James Wetherbee

About

The first American to command five NASA Space Shuttle missions. Between 1990 and 2002, he commanded missions on the Space Shuttles Columbia, Atlantis, Discovery, and Endeavour.

Before Fame

He served as a Captain in the United States Navy.

Trivia

He flew on six Space Shuttle missions and was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame in 2009.

He married and had two children.
