Known for her solos on the 1721 Red Mendelssohn Antonio Stradivari, which supposedly inspired the Canadian drama The Red Violin.

Before Fame

Her study of the violin began when she was three years old and she played a concerto with an orchestra for the first time when she was fourteen.

Trivia

As an advocate for music education, she became the President and Artistic Director of the Luzerne Music Center and Chamber Music Festival in Lake Luzerne, New York.

Family Life

She was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania to a family of musicians, including her father who trained to be an opera singer and her mother who played cello.

She attended Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, a school also attended by Eldar Djangirov.
