Remembered as the oldest Italian-born person, this supercentenarian died in Iowa, U.S.A., just four months shy of her 116th birthday. She worked as a maid until the age of ninety and survived cancer diagnosed shortly after her 100th birthday. 

Before Fame

After moving from northern Italy to the United States in the 1920s, she manufactured ammunition in a World War II-era American factory.

She outlived her coal miner husband by nearly fifty years.

Family Life

After settling in Des Moines, Iowa, she and her husband, Riccardo Manfredini, became parents to Dante, Mary Russo, Enes, and Rudy Manfredini.

Associated With

For the two weeks between the death of fellow supercentenarian Besse Cooper and her own passing, Manfredini held the distinction of being the oldest person alive.
