Became the world's oldest living person and the oldest Japanese man in history. He was 116 years and 54 days old when he died in June 2013. It is speculated that he was the last veteran of World War I.

He was a postman for more than four decades.

Trivia

He became the twenty-eighth person in history to live to 115 years old and the 9th to live to 116. He spent much of his life farming. 

Family Life

He had five children, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

He became a Guinness World Record holder, which is also the case for the tallest man in the world, Robert Wadlow.
