David Hanson

About

Roboticist who founded the Hong Kong-based robotics company Hanson Robotics in 2013. His company has earned global attention for creations like Sophia, a humanoid robot capable of holding a conversation and displaying more than 50 facial expressions. 

Before Fame

He earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a PhD from the University of Texas at Dallas.

He is the author of several books on robotics, including Humanizing Robots (2017).
