Zaide Silvia Gutiérrez

Actress whose breakout role came as the lead character in the Oscar-nominated film El Norte (1983). She has gone on to star in numerous acclaimed Mexican films, including City of the Blind (1991), Dark Cities (2002) and El Infierno (2010). 

Before Fame

She earned a B.A. in dramatic literature and theater from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She later graduated with a double major in Mexican literature and film direction from Columbia University.

Trivia

She is a multiple-time Ariel Award nominee, earning recognition for her performances in If I Do not See You Again (1997) and The Other Conquest (1998), among others.

Family Life

She married Richard McDowell.
