She attended San Jose State University and majored in communications. She first performed stand-up after losing a bet and being forced to get on stage.

She acted in the Wayans Brothers movie Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.

She was married to Jerome Harry until her death in 2012.
