In July 2021, she and her daughter Nickayla appeared on Good Morning America to talk about the 1-year anniversary of Naya's accidental drowning. Other national publications and media companies also picked up the story in 2021 when she talked publicly about the death of her daughter.

Family Life

She was married to George Rivera from 1986-1996. In 1999, she married Charles Previtire. She has three children: Naya, her eldest daughter born in 1987, Mychal born in 1990, and her younger daughter, Nickayla, born in 1994.
