Yogeshwar Dutt

Public figure and athlete. He is one of three Indian wrestlers to win a medal in the Olympics, winning the bronze medal in 2012. The Indian government awarded him the Padma Shri in 2013, and won gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. 

Before Fame

He grew up in a remote village, Bhainswal Kalan, in India. His dad was a farmer and his mom a homemaker, and he was drawn to wrestling from a young age due to his village's tradition of partaking in the sport, which he did around age 8. He gained international fame for his success in the sport, especially his Olympic win. 

Trivia

He founded a charity that helps underprivileged athletes participate in sporting events.
