He created his first line of dolls, which he called Little People, in the late 1970's.

More than ninety-five million of his Cabbage Patch Kids were sold by 1999.

Family Life

His father died in a car accident when he was five years old. He was influenced to experiment with quilted dolls by his mother, who quilted often.
