His first credited acting role was in a 1979 episode of The Waltons, in which he played a soldier.

He had an uncredited role as a CCTV operator in the 1999 film Baby Geniuses.

He was married to wife Silvina Knight until his death in October 2011. He had 2 children from a previous marriage to Harriet Birnholz.
