Wolfgang Weber

About

Former defender and coach that played professionally for the German based football club 1. FC Köln from 1963-1978. He also played for the West German men's national team during the 1960s and 1970s. After retiring, he coached the Bundesliga football club Werder Bremen.

Before Fame

He initially began his soccer career playing for SpVgg Porz's youth squad. He played there until he was 18-years-old. 

Trivia

He played in exactly 53 matches for the West German national team during his international career. Most famously, he won a bronze medal with West Germany during the 1970 World Cup. Following retirement from soccer, he got involved in the German branch of the Special Olympics.

Family Life

Growing up, he lived with his family in the modern-day Sławno, Poland area.
