Willis Reed

About

Legendary power forward/center who led the New York Knicks to a pair of NBA Championships in the early 1970s, taking Finals MVP honors during both series. He was selected to seven NBA All-Star games and named the NBA MVP in 1970. He coached the New Jersey Nets from 1988 to 1989. 

Before Fame

Although his family lived on a farm, it was his parents' insistence that got him to school.

Trivia

His greatest legacy came in game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals, where he took the court despite a severe thigh injury. He played as number 19.

He had two children with his wife Gale.
