Trivia

He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star, and Good Conduct Medal. He later wrote a novel about his experience in the war.

He married Francis Guaarnere.

Associated With

The series Band of Brothers, which starred actor Damian Lewis, was partially based on his memories of WWII.
