About

American animation director and filmmaker reputed for his work as an animator on an extensive list of films including Oliver & Company, The Little Mermaid, and Pocahontas. He both wrote and directed the 2004 Disney animated film Home on the Range. He has also worked as a voice actor, lending his voice to roles in Chicken Little and Rock Dog.

Before Fame

He attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh before he launched his career as an animator on the 1982 fantasy adventure film The Secret of NIMH. He began his career as a voiceover artist just two years later, providing the voice of Dexter in the LaserDisc video game Space Ace.

Trivia

His work on the 2005 film Home on the Range helped him earn an Annie Award nomination for Directing in an Animated Feature Production. In 2013, his work on Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return earned him a Cristal Award nomination for Best Feature at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

Family Life

He is the cousin of renowned voice actor Bob Bergen.
