Before Fame

Her son rose to widespread prominence in the 1990s New York City rap scene. His 1994 debut album Ready to Die earned him international acclaim. 

Trivia

She produced the 2009 biographical film about her son's life Notorious, and visited the set almost every day. She worked as a preschool teacher during her son's childhood. 

Family Life

Her grandson is actor Christopher Jordan Wallace, who appeared in the 2010 film Everything Must Go.
