English painter and interior designer who was a member of the Bloomsbury group and was the sister of writer Virginia Woolf.

Before Fame

She attended Sir Arthur Cope's art school in 1896 and studied painting the the Royal Academy in 1901.

Trivia

She was a major contributor to British portrait drawing and landscape art during the 20th century.

Family Life

She was in an open marriage with Clive Bell, and they had two children, before she had another child with painter Duncan Grant.

Associated With

Janet McTeer portrayed her in the 1995 Dora Carrington biopic entitled Carrington.
