Valérie Pécresse

About

French politician who is best recognized for having served as the President of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France. She is also known for having been the Minister of the Budget as well as a member of the National Assembly for Yveline's second constituency. 

Before Fame

She studied at both HEC Paris and the ENA. She was first elected deputy of Yvelines in June 2002. She gained further attention in May 2007 when she was designated Minister of Higher Education and Research. 

Trivia

She is also known for having founded her own political movement under the name Libres! after she left The Republicans in June of 2019. 

Family Life

She is the daughter of Bollore telecom CEO Dominique Roux.

She served under Prime minister Francois Fillon when she was the Minister of Higher Education from 2007 until 2011.
