Before Fame

He played high school baseball for William S. Hart High School in California. He was taken in the 5th round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, who he signed with shortly thereafter.

Trivia

He started two clinching games for the Tampa Bay Rays during the 2020 MLB playoffs. He made his MLB debut with the Pirates in July 2016.

His parents' names are Greg and Donna. He has one older brother named Ted.
