He studied medicine in Gottingen and Wurzburg, Germany.

When he was forty-five years old, he committed suicide by poisoning himself.

Family Life

His maternal aunt, Maria Edgeworth, was also a writer. In addition, Beddoes' physician father was a friend of the renowned poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
