Before Fame

She obtained an M.A. in 1983, an M.F.A. in playwriting in 1986, and a Ph.D. in Victorian era melodrama in 1989, from Brandeis University.

Trivia

She cowrote the screenplay for the Nickelodeon kids film Harriet the Spy.

Family Life

She has two children with her husband Jess.
