She wanted to become a nurse. She ultimately worked in finance. She started writing when she was 34.

She loves golfing and biking. She also frequently travels. In January 2018, she climbed Quandary Peak in Colorado. At one point, she wrote six books in a span of three years. She has long loved the English language.

She grew up as the oldest of seven children. She lived in Indiana with her partner. She has nieces and nephews.
