Susan Combs

Republican politician who was elected as the 37th Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in January, 2007. She was the first woman to be elected Commissioner of the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Before Fame

She graduated from Vassar College where she majored in French and religion and worked in international advertising in New York City.

Trivia

She has served on the boards of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association in Fort Worth and the Texas Wildlife Association.

Family Life

She married computer scientist Joe Duran and has three sons.
