Suguru Osako

About

Professional long-distance runner and athlete that primarily competes in the men's 10,000-meter, 5,000-meter and marathon events. During his professional career, he has raced at the World Championships, the Asian Games and even the Olympics. He is a member of the Japanese men's national team. 

Before Fame

He is a graduate of Saku Chosei High School. While in high school, he was also a member of the Japanese junior national team.

Trivia

He won his first career race as a professional while competing at the 2011 Summer Universiade games in Shenzhen, China. In the year 2020, he became Japan's all-time record holder after recording a 2:05:29 time during the 2020 Summer Olympics.

He was born and raised in Machida, Japan.
