Before Fame

He taught himself to play the guitar as a teenager. He was a member of the cast of the Nigerian television variety show Ukonu's Club.

Trivia

He led a group called Paperback Limited and renamed Ozzidi. The group's first hit was the 1976 song "Help." He toured with Jimmy Cliff and Toots & the Maytals. His most popular songs included "Tire Ni Oluwa," "Fire in Soweto," "Kenelum Jehova (Igbo-Nigeria), and "African Soldier."
