Singer-songwriter who has won widespread acclaim with her fusion of jazz, soul, hip-hop and traditional xhosa music. Some of her best-known releases include The One Love Movement On Bantu Biko Street (2006), Kulture Noir (2010) and Firebrand (2014). 

Before Fame

She attended the Vela Private School in Mthatha, South Africa. She got her start singing in small clubs in Johannesburg in 2002.

Trivia

She won the South African Music Award for Album of the Year for her album The One Love Movement On Bantu Biko Street (2006). 

Family Life

Her father was a preacher. She has children.
