Family Life

Her parents, Brendan and Rakesh Short, are surfers and encouraged their four children to surf. Rakesh Short also owns a dance school and Shyla started dance lessons at a young age.

Associated With

Her older sister is fellow professional surfer Zahlia Short. She said when they were children she always copied what Zahlia did and wanted to be better than her.
