Shark Toof

About

Painter, graffiti artist, muralist and activist known for shark imagery. His work also includes Guilty Pleasures, a series of iconographic cigarette packs and slot machines. His murals have been used in commercials for brands like Samsung and Apple. In 2020, he sued the Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles for accidentally throwing out his work. 

Before Fame

He started working in the California underground graffiti scene. He graduated from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Trivia

In 2014, he presented an exhibit titled I'm Shark Toof, Who The Hell Are You? at Inner State Gallery in Los Angles. The show featured paintings, hand-painted multiples, stencil works and prints. His work is known as being gritty.

His real name is David Lew.
