Singer and songwriter most famous as a member of the band LaBelle and as a session musician for artists like The Rolling Stones. As a solo artist, she gained notoriety for singles like the Top 10-charting disco track "Sinner Man." She released 4 of her own full-length albums. 

Before Fame

She originally joined The Ordettes, who later came to be known as Labelle, in 1959.

Trivia

She appeared in the infamous 1978 Beatles musical "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." Her final solo record was titled "You're All I Need" and was released in 1988.

Family Life

Her father was an ordained minister. One of her brothers had his own R&B group when she was young.

Associated With

She was a frequent collaborator of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, providing vocals on the guitarist's solo output, including the song "Rock Awhile."
