He earned a Master's degree in International Public Administration from the University of Minnesota before teaching for several years at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.

He is a founding partner of the consulting firm Social Impact. Since its creation, he has served as the companies President and CEO. 

Family Life

He and his wife adopted Jacob from Oklahoma when his birth parents were unable to take care of him. He also has a daughter named Caroline.
