He became educated in how to produce effective sleight-of-hand techniques when he studied under Bill Wisch, a noted and accomplished close-up magician.

Trivia

In 2013, he was recognized as the only American to have won awards at two different FISM World Tournaments: first in Japan in 1994 and second in Stockholm, Sweden in 2006.
