Notable for his work on both stage and screen, he appeared in the Broadway productions of Finishing Touches and The Little Foxes and had recurring roles on, among other television series, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (as Paul Blaisdell); The Equalizer (as Control); and Automan (as Lt. Jack Curtis).

Before beginning his screen acting career, he performed with a professional theater company in Lansing, Michigan.

Family Life

Born Robert Howell Brown, he spent his early days in San Diego, California, and later relocated to New York City. He was married three times (to Emily McLaughlin, Gari Hardy, and Anne Pivar), and he had a son named Robert Frederick Orin Lansing and a daughter named Alice Lucille Lansing.
