French actor, entertainer, artist, performer, filmmaker, and director known for his performances in the movies L'Immortel (22 Bullets 2010) and Le Grand Pardon (1982), and his work as a director in the films Moi César, 10 ans ½, 1m39 (2003) and La Boîte noire (2005).

Before Fame

He studied at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Paris. He then became a member of the esteemed Comédie-Française and became involved in the theater scene through this organization. His early career included numerous stage performances that would pave the way for his transition into film and television in the 1970s.

Trivia

His first onscreen role was in the film Absences répétées in 1972. He began working as a director in the early 2000s. He is an avid art collector and has often shared his love for contemporary art. He is also a screenwriter.

He was born Richard Élie Benguigui. He was born and raised in Paris, France. He has two daughters, including actress Joséphine Berry. He married Pascale Louange in 2016. He was previously married to Jeanne Manson and Jessica Forde.
