Refik Anadol

About

Digital artist and designer who melds machines, art and architecture. He has created art for SXSW and Venice's Architecture Biennale di Venezia. In 2018, he was commissioned to project works onto the Walt Disney Concert Hall, as part of their anniversary celebration. He has amassed more than 1 million followers on his refikanadol Instagram account.

Before Fame

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography and video from Bilgi University in Istanbul. He went on to get a Masters of Fine Arts degree.

Trivia

He served on the faculty at the Design Media Arts School at UCLA. In June 2023, he designed Glacier Dreams, an art commission inspired by the beauty and fragility of the world's glaciers on display at Art Basel. 

Family Life

His parents inspired his love of technology. He married Efsun Erkilic in 2008. 

Associated With

In 2019, he created a 16-minute projection onto the Dongdaemun Design Plaza building in Seoul, South Korea by architect Zaha Hadid.
