Ralph Helfer

About

American animal behaviorist who founded the nature reserve Africa U.S.A. He was also the writer and producer of the 1981 film Savage Harvest.

Before Fame

He opened his first animal training center, Nature's Haven, in 1955.

Trivia

He founded another animal park called Gentle Jungle, which was closed over an investigation by the USDA.

He married Toni Ringo in 1962 and they had one daughter.
