In 2014 she paid for a stranger's groceries when the woman's debit card was declined, and the woman, who had been suffering from extreme depression at the time, sought her out four years later and thanked her via the Part-Time Working Mummy blog.

She's had three children named Betsy, Tallulah-Belle and Edie and is stepmother to Seb and Isaac. She's been married to police officer Josh Marshall.
