Patrick Manning

About

Trinidadian politician who served as leader of the People's National Movement from 1987 to 2010. He was twice elected Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, from 1991 to 1995 and 2001 to 2010.

Before Fame

He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from the University of the West Indies in 1969 and first entered Parliament two years later.

Trivia

Before entering Parliament, he worked for Texaco as a geologist.

Family Life

He married fellow People's National Movement politician Hazel Manning.

Associated With

He succeeded Yoweri Museveni as the 6th Chairperson-in-office of the Commonwealth of Nations in 2009.
