Best known as the late estranged father of former Disney star and pop sensation Demi Lovato and actress Dallas Lovato. He died in June 2013 after a battle with cancer.

Before Fame

He and Demi Lovato's mother, Dianna De La Garza, divorced in 1994 due to the failure of their long distance relationship.

Trivia

His child Demi's single "For the Love of a Daughter," released in 2011, was written in reference to her estranged relationship with him. 

Family Life

He was of Mexican ancestry and lived for much of his life with his father, Frank, in New Mexico. He had three children, Demi, Dallas, and Amber.

His ex-wife, Dianna, later gave birth to another girl, Demi and Dallas' half sibling Madison De La Garza.
