Osleivis Basabe

Professional shortstop and middle infielder that was first signed by the Texas Rangers as an international free agent in 2017. A few years later, he was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays via trade in December 2020. He was named the Rays' 12th best MLB prospects following the 2022 minor league season. 

Before Fame

Prior to playing in the MLB, he played in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League as a member of the Aguilas del Zulia. He later began pitching for the DSL Rangers in June 2018. 

Trivia

He recorded a career-high 144 hits during the 2022 minor league season. He also recorded a career-high 47 runs batted in.

Family Life

Growing up, he lived with his family in Bobures, Venezuela.
