Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and producer known for his hit songs 'Hallelujah', 'Nai Nai', 'Kata', 'Vumilia' and others along with his albums I Am Ommy Dimpoz, from 2013, and Kata 2, from 2019. His song "Ni Wewe" has garnered more than 1 million streams on Spotify. 

Before Fame

He attended St. Theresa Secondary School. He began singing in local churches when he was 15, which sparked his interest and passion for music. He graduated from high school and moved to Dar es Salaam to join a local band called Black Boys. He was the lead singer and guitarist for Black Boys. He released his debut single "Hallelujah" in 2012 which became an instant hit in East Africa and jumpstarted his solo career.

He enjoys watching movies and playing sports. He has a certificate in business administration. His stage name Ommy Dimpoz comes from "Ommy" which is a common nickname for people named Omari, and "Dimpoz'" which came from his distinctive dimples. 

Family Life

He was born Omari Faraji Nyembo. He was born and raised in Moshi, Kilimanjaro. His parents are Mary and Peter Nyembo.
