Omar Abdullah

Leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference political party and eleventh Chief Minister of India's Jammu and Kashmir State. He also served his native state in the Indian parliament's lower (Lok Sabha) house.

Before Fame

Before entering politics, he briefly studied at Sydenham College, Mumbai. He became a Minister in the Lok Sabha when he was still in his twenties.

Trivia

He appeared, playing himself, in Indian director Apoorva Lakhia’s 2008 film, Mission Istanbul.

Family Life

He was born to doctor and fellow Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and British citizen Mollie Abdullah. His marriage to Payal Nath produced two sons.

He and fellow politician Varun Gandhi both became members of the Indian Lok Sabha.
