Oliver Braddick

About

Famous for his groundbreaking research on visual perception in babies, this developmental psychologist and professor co-authored such scientific papers as "Motion and Orientation-Specific Cortical Responses in Infancy" and "Development of Illusory-Contour Perception in Infants."

Before Fame

He received his bachelor's degree and doctorate in Experimental Psychology from Trinity College, Cambridge, and went on to hold a post-doctoral fellowship at Brown University.

Trivia

In 2012, his contributions to the field of psychology earned him the title of Fellow of the British Academy.

Family Life

He and his wife and fellow psychologist and researcher, Janette Atkinson, both taught at University College London in the 1990s. Then, in the early 2000s, Braddick began heading the University of Oxford's psychology program.
