Nikki Iles

Jazz artist and educator known for her piano and accordion skills. She was the winner of the BT Jazz Festival's 1996 John Dankworth Special Award.

Before Fame

She learned the harmonica and clarinet when she was in primary school and won a junior exhibition at age 11 at the Royal Academy of Music.

Trivia

She was a member of Emanon, her former husband Richard Iles' group.

Family Life

She was a child of musicians, her mother being a pianist and her father being a drummer.

She and Anthony Braxton were among the founders of the Creative Jazz Orchestra.
