Nicholas II

About

Last Emperor of Russia who reigned from 1894 to 1917. He was infamously executed during the Russian Revolution on charges of treason due to the unpopularity of the First World War and Russia's defeat in the Russo-Japanese War. 

Before Fame

He had an affair with the ballet dancer Mathilde Kschessinska while he was Tsesarevich.

Trivia

He was nicknamed Bloody Nicholas because of his violent initiatives which included his anti-Semitic pogroms, Bloody Sunday, and the Khodynka tragedy.

Family Life

He became engaged to his German second cousin Alexandra Feodorovna in 1894; they married the same year. One of his children was Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna.

Associated With

His monarchy was succeeded by the dictatorship of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.
