Nancy Spungen

About

Gained fame through her tumultuous romance with bad-boy bass player Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols. It wasn't until she left college and flew to London in December 1976 at the height of the punk rock movement that she discovered these bands.

Before Fame

She worked as a dancer around Manhattan and followed rock groups like Aerosmith and the Ramones. She graduated from graduated from Lakeside High School.

Trivia

She had a reputation for short temper and explosiveness, which led to her nickname "Nauseating Nancy." She was born with cyanosis.

Family Life

She was born to Franklin and Deborah Spungen and raised alongside a younger sister named Susan and a younger brother named David. 

Associated With

A film about her romance with Sid Vicious, called Sid and Nancy, was released in 1986 with Chloe Webb playing Nancy.
